Generative user interfaces are changing the way people interact with digital products. It’s no longer just about designing prettier screens or more efficient flows, but about creating experiences that adapt in real time to each user, their context and their needs.
In this landscape, generative UI emerges as a natural evolution of digital design: an intelligent layer that combines design, data, and artificial intelligence to build living, dynamic, and personalized interfaces.
At Paisanos, we’ve been exploring this approach as part of our ongoing effort to improve user experience and reduce friction at key moments in the journey. What we’ve found is not just a technological trend, but a profound shift in the relationship between people and systems.
What is generative user interface?
Generative user interface is a design approach that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning models to create and adapt interfaces in real time. Unlike traditional interfaces (designed as fixed structures) generative UI responds to user behavior, preferences, and context as the interaction unfolds.
This means that not only the content changes, but also the way that content is presented: components, hierarchies, messages, and flows can dynamically adjust to make the experience clearer, more relevant, and more fluid.
The real value of generative UI in user experience
Beyond its technological appeal, generative UI delivers tangible benefits when implemented thoughtfully and with a user-centered focus.
Personalization that feels natural
Personalization stops being a superficial feature and becomes a structural part of the experience. The interface adapts without requiring manual configuration, anticipating needs and reducing cognitive effort. The result is a more intuitive, closer, and more efficient interaction.
Operational efficiency and speed of evolution
By automating parts of interface generation and adaptation, teams can optimize development time and respond faster to business or user behavior changes. This doesn’t replace strategic design, it amplifies it, enabling faster and more precise iteration.
A new space for innovation
Integrating artificial intelligence into interface design opens up possibilities that were previously difficult to scale: conversational experiences, non-linear journeys, and systems that learn through use. Innovation shifts from being driven solely by new features to being built into the interaction itself.
Our POC: a shopping experience embedded in a chat
As part of this exploration, at Paisanos we developed a proof of concept focused on integrating a purchasing experience directly within a chat. The idea was to rethink the buying process from a conversational environment, reducing unnecessary steps and bringing interaction closer to natural language.
This POC aims to demonstrate how generative UI can transform a traditional flow into a more accessible, direct, and human experience.
Advantages of a generative conversational experience
In this context, the value isn’t just in “buying from a chat,” but in how the interface adapts to the conversation.
- Natural interaction: users can ask, compare, and purchase using everyday language, without learning new navigation logic.
- Simplified transactions: fewer steps, less friction, and decisions guided in real time.
- Immediate access to information and documentation: contextual responses without leaving the conversation or navigating multiple screens.
Each of these points has a direct impact on user experience and on key metrics such as conversion, satisfaction, and resolution time.
Beyond e-commerce: possible applications of generative UI
Generative user interfaces are not limited to digital commerce. Their potential extends across multiple industries and use cases.
- Customer support: faster, more personalized support experiences, with responses tailored to user history and context.
- Digital education: platforms that adapt content, pace, and format based on progress and learning style.
- Information and document management: dynamic, organized access to relevant content, reducing search time and cognitive load.
In every case, the core principle is the same: interfaces that adapt to people, not the other way around.
The future of generative UI at Paisanos
Generative UI is not a magic solution or a replacement for strategic design. It’s a powerful tool that, when applied well, makes it possible to build more relevant, human, and efficient experiences.
Our POC is just a first step. We continue to research and develop this approach with a clear premise: technology is a means, not an end. The real value emerges when design, business, and user needs align to create experiences that truly work.
Common questions about generative UI
What is generative user interface?
Generative user interface is a design approach that uses artificial intelligence to create and adapt interfaces in real time based on user behavior, context, and needs, improving experience and reducing friction.
How is generative UI different from a traditional interface?
While traditional interfaces are static and predefined, generative UI is dynamic: it adjusts content, flows, and components based on each user and specific situation.
Does generative UI replace traditional UX design?
No. Generative UI enhances UX design, but still requires strategy, judgment, and user-centered design to work effectively.
Which industries can apply generative UI?
It can be applied in e-commerce, customer support, digital education, document management, and any digital product where user experience is critical.
